Project Background

In 2024, Fort Saskatchewan residents voiced strong support for a new Aquatics Centre during the municipal Census. In response, Council approved funding for the project’s design phase. As we move forward, your input will help shape the experience and offerings of a new facility.

Before the survey launches, we encourage you to explore the key features and considerations that will be included. Once the engagement phase is complete, the City will present the community's preferred features to Council for approval and begin detailed design work.

Get Ready to Participate

Complete the Aquatics Survey between February 18 – March 5, 2025. Choose the option that works best for you:

  • Online – See the links below and complete the survey anytime.
  • In-person – Drop by Harbour Pool or the Dow Centennial Centre to complete the survey on-site. Survey stations will be available at:
    • Harbour Pool:
      • February 27, 9 am-1:30 pm
      • February 28, 6:30-8:30 pm
    • Dow Centennial Centre:
      • February 26, 9 am-1:00 pm
      • March 4, 6-9 pm
  • Hard Copy – Pick up a printed survey at City Hall, fill it out at your convenience, and return it to City Hall to ensure your feedback is included.


What to Expect in the Aquatics Survey

  • This survey will ask you to rank your priorities for additional features, activities, and dryland spaces (indoor spaces for relaxing, viewing, or rentals) at the new Aquatics Centre.
  • You’ll see a list of confirmed features that are already included in the facility, followed by questions on what additional elements are most important to you.
  • The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
  • You’ll have the option to provide demographic information and additional comments to help us better understand community needs.

  • Learn about each feature being considered.
  • Understand key factors like cost ranges, feasibility, and long-term maintenance.

Key Dates

Council Meeting & Decision: April 8, 2025

Once the survey closes, we’ll compile your responses into a "What We Heard" report, summarizing key insights from the community. This will help guide the project’s next steps and will be presented to City Council on April 8, 2025.
